How to deal with your hemorrhoid pain?

Hemorrhoids can appear at your most unexpected time and when it starts to annoy you with the pain it brings, sometimes you can go nuts and feel helpless because of it. Even if you are taking any hemorrhoid treatment for the moment, of course you can't expect the treatment will take effect right away and heal your piles in an instant.

For some reason, hemorrhoids can be itchy and painful at the same time, even you're not touching them. The effect of the swelling veins can be one the reasons but thank heavens, there can be a solution for hemorrhoid pains even though it won't last that long.

Here are some of the things you can do to alleviate your hemorrhoid pain. Remember, these can only give you temporary relief, total hemorrhoid elimination starts with cutting the things that caused them, not just its symptoms.

  • Sitz bath – the warm effect of sitz bath can soothe the pain and the itching caused by hemorrhoids.
  • Apply creams or gels – there are OTC creams and gels that can be applied to soothe the burning feeling and for swelling hemorrhoids. Some creams contain anti-itch properties to relieve the itching hemorrhoids.
  • Apply hot and cold compress – cold compress is best for swelling hemorrhoids and hot compress can help relieve the hemorrhoid itch. You can alternately apply both.
  • Take pain medication – you can ask your doctor for some medicine for anti-inflammatory and pain
  • Use a hemorrhoid cushion – there are available cushions designed for hemorrhoids to lessen the pressure on your hemorrhoids when you sit down.

By taking any of these suggestions, you can skip feeling your hemorrhoid pain but the effects can only last up to 24 hours. But you can do these things in between your hemorrhoid treatment to help speed up your recovery.
